Democratic Candidates “THERE ARE NO MODERATE DEMOCRATS”
Because no Democratic candidate filed the necessary signatures to qualify for the primary ballot, the 32-member Democratic state central committee will select the party's candidate -- although they cannot do so until after the scheduled May 4 primary. Rep. Brad Ellsworth has filed with the party for the Senate nomination. Rep. Baron Hill and Mayor Thomas McDermott have said they will not run. Rep. Ellsworth's record actually looked more moderate than Bayh's until Obama Care. He has had fewer years to establish a record and has had few votes besides Socialized Health Care where he was pressured by the House leadership. U.S. House Web Site Rep. These two set the agenda and bribe, arm twist, and issue threats to make sure moderates tow the liberal line when their votes are really needed: Louisiana Purchase, Corn Husker Kick Back, and threats of no party money at election time. ![]() Left wing extremists Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid
